''Damn Great Wall, damn Microsoft."

Those are the words written by Zhao Jing, a Chinese "dissident" speaking out about the recent shut-down of his blog site by Microsoft, who acted on a request by the Chinese government to censor the writer for his anti-Beijing views.

As it turns out, many American companies currently doing business with China are acting just as did Microsoft, in that they crumple against the force and weight of the Chinese, over seemingly minutia of "offenses" by "dissidents".

On a personal note, it shames me greatly that I currently use a PC running Windows software. It sickens me to no end that my dollars have gone to support the greedy, self-interested and apathetic views of Bill Gate$ & Co.

Well said, Zhao Jing, well said.

Note To Self: Don't Set The Mouse On Fire

A New Mexico resident recently found out why sometimes, it's best not to meddle with nature. Specifically, why not to experiment with the flammability of the common mouse.

It turns out this fellow was tired of the little intruder running around his house all the time. He finally caught it and, noting a burning pile of leaves he'd been working on in his backyard, decided to have a little mouse-bbq. He tossed the mouse into the pile, and then watched in amazement as the mouse, flaming, ran from the pile of leaves back to - you guessed it - under the house. I guess the mouse wanted to seek safety, as any intelligent critter would under such circumstances, and that means returning to your den. Even if you are ablaze.

The mouse of course died, but not before setting the entire house on fire, destroying it and leaving the man with nothing. Personally, it serves him right for not being a bit more ethical with a quick-kill mousetrap or something. But then, it's no wonder given this guy is a few needles short of a cactus.

Unseasonably dry conditions in New Mexico have left the area a big fire hazard. Why, then, would the guy burn leaves so close to his house in the first place, or at least, within burning-mouse range?

Oooh hooo hoooooo.... guess who's guilty?

Guess Delay isn't so innocent after all....

What great timing this is, too, what with Jack Abramoff's guilty pleas... guess we'll see for sure in coming weeks.

This guy should have stayed with pesticide sales. Because now he's the one being exterminated!

Ayup. All the while, Pat Buchanan is saying Delay's still innocent and is backing out so he can come back in 2007. Uh-huh.

The Miners Have Survived! Err... Wait!

Here's one on how the mass media seriously screwed up early reports of the poor miners who they thought had survived, when in fact all but one are now dead.

Look at this screenshot from Yahoo News earlier tonight... note the primary headline with the "breaking news" blip from CNN above.

WHOOPS.

No sooner did the truth come out than CNN and other networks began a furious spin campaign to cast aside any blame on their parts for not fact-checking. Simply amazing.

Say... did you hear Iraq might have weapons of mass destruction?
